Alice Hanson Massett Schaaf (Swede), 97, Anaconda, MT, passed away at Community Hospital of Anaconda on September 18, 2019 after a short illness. Alice was born on May 27, 1922 in Anaconda, MT to Ole and Mable Hanson. Alice was blessed with four children and she spent much of her life as a homemaker. Alice married Phil Schaaf on July 27, 1967.
Alice enjoyed knitting and crochet, making baby outfits and crochet towels, camping, and dancing. She was involved with the Eagles and Metcalf Senior Citizen Center. She loved getting her hair done by Paulette.
She is survived by her children: Mike Massett, Rose (Butch) Tesdal, Shirly Massett (Larry Anderson), and Mary Massett, brother: Edward Hanson, grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Sam (Stacy) Stearns, Dan Tesdal, Missy (Steve) Thomsen, Mary Tesdal, and Debbie Tesdal, great-grandchildren: Trevor Thompsen, Zach Gilling, Lance Gilling, Tyra Rodrigues, Arron Tesdal, Sarah Tesdal, Tori Tesdal, and Tanner Tesdal.
She is preceded in death by parents: Ole and Mable Hansen, Joe Massett, Phil Schaaf, sister: Elsie Thompson, son-in-law: Clayton Olsen, and special friend: Omar (Gabby) Cavalor.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Cook and the staff at Community Hospital of Anaconda and her hospice nurse, Lea Francisco. Memorials are suggested to charity of donor’s choice. Alice requested no services.
