Alex died on July 24, 2021, at Continental Gardens in Butte, MT.
Alex was born on January 7, 1942, in Lansing, Michigan, to Alexander and Margaret (Hildebrant) Detwiler. Alex was his own man leaving home at young age. He lived in Canada for a short time before traveling the world, working on numerous oil rigs. He served in the Army at Fort George, Maryland, between 1955 to 1961 where he was honorably discharged. Alex loved to fix and collect things, making many handmade items.
In February 2020 he was admitted to Senior Solutions Hospice Care where he was nurtured and cared for along with his treasured soulmate and trusted companion, Little Red, a corgi dachshund mix.
Alex became an un-official member of his nurse, Julie’s, family – especially to his two favorite daily dog walkers, Ali and Addisyn, who walked Little Red every evening.
Alex will be missed by his Senior Solutions Caretakers along with Little Red.

Sally says
I am his daughter.
He left me when I was 3 years.
I have always wanted to know him without the drama from his sisters.
Guess that will not happen now.
Kristy Hennies says
Alex lived with us for a good 5 years. He was a soft man with the most amazing blue eyes you had ever seen.
